FAQs
Learn more about the 2020 Sun Valley Wine Auction

1.

Why has the format for Wine Auction changed for 2020?

The Wine Auction in its traditional multi-day, multi-event format is not happening this year because of health and safety concerns due to COVID-19. In lieu of an in-person event, SVMoA invites you to participate in a virtual auction experience that will include incredible wine lots and special bidding opportunities! The three-day auction will occur July 15-17.

2.

Will you offer Vintner Dinners?

Yes, the auction will include a series of Vintner Dinners  that will take place this coming fall and winter. We will also call on our supporters to participate in a “Raise the Paddle for Art” to support The Museum’s K-12 education programming.

3.

How can I participate in the Virtual Event?

FREE Registration is required to view and participate in the virtual wine auction. Registration details will be announced soon. We will offer Silent Auction Lots at a variety or price points and the “Raise the Paddle for Art” will also offer multiple levels of participation. We welcome everyone to get involved and thank you for your generosity. Support the arts! Support creativity! Bid high and bid often!

4.

How can I support the arts and SVMoA?

  • Raise Your Paddle for Art

  • Bid on the silent auction

  • Purchase a seat at a vintner dinner

All donations ensure that we can continue to deliver transformative and engaging arts programs through the coming year.

COVID-19 has deeply impacted SVMoA’s critical summer season, which accounts for 70% of the organization’s annual income. For Sun Valley Museum of Art to continue to provide robust and diverse education programs in 2020-2021 and support our mission, we are counting on you to help us reach our fundraising goal in this challenging time. 5.

What will SVMoA offer this summer?

Visual Arts Exhibitions: We have two wonderful exhibitions at The Museum for the summer. Free Play, an interactive exhibition that encourages people to come in and enjoy manipulating the art, is on view through July 2. On July 10, we open From the Colour of Its Bloom, a BIG IDEA project that we have been working on for a number of years. The exhibition includes commissioned work by six artists responding to the Camas Prairie, near Fairfield, and one large-scale outdoor sculpture to be sited in Ketchum.

Classes: A full slate of classes for adults and students will begin in late May and run through September.

We hope to resume Evening Exhibition Tours, our Art Therapy program for adults facing cognitive and memory challenges, and Family Days as restrictions allow.

6.

Will you return to the traditional event format for the 2021 Wine Auction?

We intend and hope to return to an in-person multi-day celebration for the 40th Wine Auction in 2021. We will always put the health of our community first and adhere to CDC guidelines and the Governor of Idaho’s orders moving forward. All of us at SVMoA are working tirelessly to tailor our events-focused programming to the current COVID-19 climate and will keep you updated on developments and changes.

Thank you for your patience and continued support.
