The Walls Vineyards were started in 2014 with the goal of making wines that express the terroir from which they originate: the wine-producing soils of the Pacific Northwest. Using wines from several vineyards and AVAs, the eclectic winery produces world-class wines under a name that serves as a local homage to the old Washington State Penitentiary that used to be just down the street as well as a nod to the metaphorical walls we put up in our lives and the goal of tearing them down.
Force Majeure winery, also located in Walla Walla, specializes in estate-grown, single-vineyard Bordeaux and Rhône-inspired wines grown on the rocky slopes of Red Mountain and two newer vineyard sites in the Walla Walla Valley. Founded in 2004, Force Majeure wines are crafted by former Bryant Family Vineyard winemaker, Todd Alexander.
At Passatempo, you’ll enjoy a taste of Italy at this restaurant specializing in pasta made by hand. Specializing in food with a sense of place and history, it’s the perfect addition to a trip where you’ll taste wines that taste of this special place in Washington.
