PARTY IN A BOX 6

Day of Dreams: Fly-Fishing in the Copper Basin with Round Pond Estate

Get a taste for rugged mountain life alongside nine of your friends with this day excursion to the Copper Basin, a beautiful mountain valley in the Pioneer Mountains of south-central Idaho. This area is truly remote, with wide-open spaces and views of surrounding mountains, and more frequent encounters with wildlife than with other people. Enjoy a day of fly-fishing in the area with someone in-the-know: chef and fishing guide Taite Pearson. Born in Idaho, Pearson has been fishing since he was 10 years old. He has cooked professionally for 23 years and been involved with several restaurants in Ketchum, but now spends his time as a certified fly-fishing guide with Silver Creek Outfitters. Pearson’s guiding style ensures you’ll spend time in the water, successfully hooking fish while he shares his knowledge of the sport.

After the fishing’s done, enjoy a picnic lunch for ten hosted on the terrace of Wendy and Alan Pesky’s Copper Basin ranch, catered by local favorite Cristina’s with wine pairings from Napa Valley’s Round Pond Estate. Paired with this delightful lunch al fresco, sample such world-class wines as:

2018 Rutherford Estate Sauvignon Blanc
2018 Proprietary White Blend
2017 Rutherford Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
2015 Gravel Series “The Vow” Cabernet Sauvignon

Owned by the MacDonnell family since purchasing the land in the early 1980s, Round Pond Estate is home to 357 acres of vineyards on which the family grows their grapes using sustainable farming practices.

The founders of the Lee Pesky Learning Center, the Peskys are Wine Auction Emeritus Co-Chairs and active supporters of the Museum. Each year, SVMoA’s Wendy and Alan Pesky Educator Scholarship is awarded to educators in the Wood River Valley to support formal professional development in the visual arts, performing arts, or humanities. Wendy and Alan recognize the importance of arts and education; they continue to serve as vocal advocates for SVMoA’s education initiatives.
