A Winemaker Dinner with Canihan Family Winery, featuring a live performance by Portland Cello Project

This auction lot is truly a “Party in a Box,” with entertainment, wine, food, and a beautiful ambience created by the art gracing the walls of Gail Severn Gallery. Your party for 30 will be wowed by the sounds of the Portland Cello Project, a group known since 2006 for their virtuosic playing and creative arrangements of everything from pop to standards and beloved songs from around the world. For this special performance, Portland Cello Project will showcase a new project. “Purple Reign,” featuring the hits of Prince. The audience will also enjoy well-known songs from artists like Taylor Swift and Radiohead—a concert with something for every musical taste.

While taking in the stunning contemporary art of the gallery and enjoying the musical stylings of Portland Cello Project, sip on wine from the Canihan Family Winery. Ideally located in Sonoma, on the border of the Sonoma Coast and Carneros Appellations, the Canihan vineyards receive cool evening breezes and frequent fog from the San Francisco Bay that provide perfect growing conditions. Organic dry-farming, cane-pruning, hand-harvesting only at complete ripeness, fermentation with naturally occurring native yeast, and no refining or filtering all result in flavorful wines expressive of the terroir. Founded in 2006, the award-winning certified organic winery is committed to elegant and flavorful wine produced in low yields and developed without intervention.

Paired with the delicious wine from Canihan will be a meal prepared by renowned Sun Valley chef Judith McQueen. McQueen founded her catering company, Judith McQueen Entertaining, in 1998 and has since made a name for herself locally as an exquisite event planner and caterer. With more than thirty-three years as a professional chef, six years in corporate food service, and nearly two decades of events, party planning, and corporate functions under her belt, McQueen’s events are experiences to remember.
