A Proud Heritage: Sip & Savor with Pride Mountain Vineyard

Perched at the end of a twisting 20-minute drive west of St. Helena, Pride Mountain Vineyards sits atop the divide between Napa and Sonoma Counties, offering visitors a stunning view of rugged Mount St. Helena to the northeast and verdant vineyards rising skyward in all directions.

At 2,000 feet above the valley floor, Pride Mountain vines receive roughly 27% more ultraviolet light than vines in level vineyards on the surrounding valley floors do, resulting in big, bold reds loaded with varietal character and nice acidity, Viogniers and Chardonnays with mid-palette richness and a hint of acidity, and whites with strong flavors and a fresh taste.

Established as Summit Ranch Wines in 1890, Pride Mountain Vineyards was rechristened in 1989 with Jim and Carolyn Pride’s purchase of the estate. Since the winery’s inaugural vintage in 1991, Carolyn and Jim (who passed away in 2004) have strived to produce wines reflective of the estate’s unique growing situation while relying on traditional methods and a hands-on approach to viticulture.

Experience 360° of Napa Valley’s Pride Mountain Vineyards, beginning with an exclusive tour of their 85-acre vineyard and 235-acre estate, followed by a tasting of their intensely flavored wines and an idyllic picnic for two at the site of the original Summit Ranch winery, built in 1890. As a parting gift, a gorgeous curated selection from Pride Mountain’s robust portfolio will be yours to take home and savor at your leisure—a must-have for the burgeoning oenophile and the seasoned collector alike!
